Graced by the presence of UP and Edu-Connect officials and partners, along with around 70 Philippine state university presidents, the Kindness Hotel unveiled its second fellowship center named after the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) on 7 July 2019 in Kindness Hotel Main Branch, Kaohsiung City.
This fellowship center now serves as a venue for Philippine university officials to conduct their networking and interaction with their counterpart Southern Taiwan universities. The center provides facilities and services to facilitate meetings, discussions and programs intended to boost educational cooperation among higher educational institutions from the Philippines visiting Southern Taiwan.
Previously, a similar fellowship center named after the University of the Philippines System was also opened by Kindness Hotel to aid the numerous educational exchanges occurring between UP campuses and Southern Taiwan University Alliance (STUA) members from 2016-2018.
Present during the unveiling ceremony was Dr. Cynthia Bautista, Vice President for Academic Affairs of the UP System. She shared her view that the benefits reaped by the UP System from their linkage efforts with Southern Taiwan universities must be shared with other SUCs and private higher educational institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines.
Also present during the event was Dr. Perfecto Alibin of the Commission on Higher Education who regarded the center as "a facility of scholarship and research excellence".
